4f52ed37f7 Fix migrate command's parse error 
argument. So, when it is trying to materialize MigrateCommand, the file
path does not match what it is expected(a bool).

3d0089552c Fixing failures in tests when the user has a fallbackfolder setup on this machine already. These failures are again due to the fact that --packages are not populated when the packages are found in the fallback folder. 2017-04-03 22:15:40 -07:00

dee8725fd2 Fixed the failing windows tests by pointing to a NuGet.Config during restore. The issue there was that when NuGet finds a package in the fallback folder, it does not copy it to the packages folder when --packages is specified. Also, to avoid collateral changes during tests, set APPDATA env variable when running the first run experience tests. 2017-04-03 10:45:35 -07:00

0c1af8a2fe Enabling E2E tests by setting HOME and USERPROFILE env variables. This will cause the NuGet.Config and fallback folder to be extract to the location in those variables during the tests. a46237784e Modified the build script to generate the lzma archive without the nupkgs. Modified the configurer to upsert NuGet.Config with the fallback folder info and to extract the fallback folder. Added unit tests for all this. Next step: update E2E tests. 2017-03-30 00:11:17 -07:00

10e743e8e5 Switched to using a FallbackPackagePathResolver to find the tool dll, because now with Fallback folders, we can have the tool dll in the fallback folder but its assets file in the user nuget cache. This happens because Nuget never writes to the fallback folder, including the tool's assets file that it generates during restore. 2017-03-24 12:17:27 -07:00

bd58bcf03b Disable F# tests on linux-x64.

4aacb22993 Add support for dotnet help <verb> 
This commit adds supports for getting more detailed help by using the
`dotnet help <verb>` syntax (e.g. `dotnet help build`). This change
opens up the URL that is specified for each verb in the default browser
on the user's machine, so internet access is required.

23e39c10b7 Moving as many of our test assets to netcoreapp2.0 as possible. I believe the only ones missing at the test packages, because tools always target 1.0. And the other ones are VSTestDotNetCore and VSTestXUnitDotNetCore, because we can't run tests on 2.0 yet. Or, when I tried it failed. I may came back to try this out later. 2017-03-02 17:41:21 -08:00

* Create backup folder in the directory where 'dotnet migrate' is executed

With this change, 'dotnet migrate' will create the backup folder in the workspace directory rather
than the parent of the workspace directory. This solves two problems:

1. It makes it easier for the user where the backup is -- it's in the directory they targeted with
'dotnet migrate'.
2. It solves a problem of file oollisions with global.json files when migrating multiple projects.
Consider the following directory structure:

    root
        |
        project1

            global.json

            src
                |
                project1
        project2
            |
            global.json
            |
            src
                |
                project2

    Prior to this change, running 'dotnet migrate' project1 and then running it again in project2
    would have caused an exception to be thrown because the migration would try to produce a backup
    folder like so:

        |
        |
        project1
            |
            src

    Now, we produce the following structure, which has no collisions:

In addition, to help avoid further collisions, a number is appened to the backup folder's name if

cdf91f2f30 Fixing dotnet migrate global.json. This was failing because we were turning global.json into an empty string and trying to construct a directory for it. * Remove test that assumes props/targets imports

The test ItAddsRefBetweenImports validated that the MSBuild XML model contained new project references between the props and targets imports. While useful be fore the SDK attribute, the test no longer adds value since the SDK is added implicitly, guaranteeing it wraps the remaining project contents.

* Move MSBuild to 15.1.0-preview-000509-03

This is the last msbuild version prior to the change of MSBuild's dependencies to include .NET 1.1 components.

* Move MSBuild invocations to use dirs.props/dirs.tasks

* Put back the test targets. We'll unify later.

* Remove dirs.props props from templates msbuild invocation

116ed9bca6 Introducing solution file for test projects 
This commit introduces a solution file for test projects and modifies
the needed build targets to restore the test solution instead of each
test project separately.

It also introduces a new template called "sln" to dotnet new that drops
a template solution file for users to consume.

adopted format. This PR changes the options to be aligned. Where

e1965327e0 Adding a test that restores all c# templates and checks that none of them depend on a package produced by the CLI. bb1bceb8bb When we had a project.json without frameworks, we were failing to show the appropriate error message because when we were generating the error message itself we tried to access the project context (which requires a framework in the PJ). caad95491a Fix output race (#4911) 
* Fix output race

TestCommand starts the test process before wiring up stderr & stdout. This change delays process start until after the wireup is finished so that the test process cannot shut down before we have wired up output redirection.

* Bypass stream forwarder when it fails to attach to a process

CLI has tests failing errenously when, due to timing issues, the StreamForwarders fail to attach to a process because it managed to exit before attachment occurs. 

We tried attaching the forwarders prior to Process Start but this proved impossible because the OUT and ERR streams are not available to attach before the process starts. 

This exposes a fundamental flaw in our output redirection mechanisms. We should probably move to using https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.diagnostics.process.outputdatareceived.aspx or a similar mechanism. However, I don't know that @brthor hadn't considered and discarded this approach.

For the time being I am attempting to make tests more deterministic by capturing the associated exceptions and moving to a different mechanism when StreamForwarders are not available.

Opened https://github.com/dotnet/cli/issues/4913 to track the broader issue.

dc87680337 Making Project Tools use the CLI shared runtime if they have the prefercliruntime in the root of their package. Had to make the telemetry session ID a static variable so that the forwarding app could use it.

I've tested this all manually and will be writing tests after everyone signs off on the implementation here.

Also update Microsoft.NET.Sdk to 1.0.0-alpha-20161026-2 since this has the corresponding fix needed for https://github.com/dotnet/sdk/issues/301.

33caa408a1 1) Added support to run test from test3 verb for the project targeting multiple TFM 
2) Added test to address above change
3) Crossgen were creating problem for full CLR built assemblies. Removed All those assembly from Crossgen list.
4) Removed the line of code which were deleting Extensions folder under sdk folder as this folder contain trx logger dlls
