Description: manage files with git, without checking their contents into git
 git-annex allows managing files with git, without checking the file
 contents into git. While that may seem paradoxical, it is useful when
 dealing with files larger than git can currently easily handle, whether due
 to limitations in memory, time, or disk space.

 It can store large files in many places, from local hard drives, to a
 large number of cloud storage services, including S3, WebDAV,
 and rsync, with a dozen cloud storage providers usable via plugins.
 Files can be stored encrypted with gpg, so that the cloud storage
 provider cannot see your data. git-annex keeps track of where each file
 is stored, so it knows how many copies are available, and has many
 facilities to ensure your data is preserved.

 git-annex can also be used to keep a folder in sync between computers,

Now uses the Haskell uuid library, rather than needing a uuid program. Been meaning to do this for some time; Android port was last straw. basic json support This includes a generic JSONStream library built on top of Text.JSON (somewhat hackishly). It would be possible to stream out a single json document describing all actions, but it's probably better for consumers if they can expect one json document per line, so I did it that way instead. Output from external programs used for transferring files is not currently hidden when outputting json, which probably makes it not very useful there. This may be dealt with if there is demand for json output for --get or --move to be parsable. The version, status, and find subcommands have hand-crafted output and don't do json. Switched from the old haskell HTTP library to http-conduit. The hoary old HTTP library was only used when checking if an url exists, when curl was not available. It had many problems, including not supporting https at all. Now, this is done using http-conduit for all urls that it supports. Falls back to curl for any url that http-conduit doesn't like (probably ftp etc, but could also be an url that its parser chokes on for whatever reason). This adds a new dependency on http-conduit, but webdav support already indirectly depended on that, and the s3-aws branch also uses it. This opens up the possibility of using http-conduit for large file downloads, but for now I've left it using wget/curl.
