Been hitting AIL ordering assert failures recently, but been unable
to trace them down because the system immediately hangs up onteh
spinlock that was held when this assert fires:

Move the assertions outside of the spinlock so the corpse can

The log item flags contain a field that is protected by the AIL
lock - the XFS_LI_IN_AIL flag. We use non-atomic RMW operations to
set and clear these flags, but most of the updates and checks are
not done with the AIL lock held and so are susceptible to update
races.
Fix this by changing the log item flags to use atomic bitops rather
than be reliant on the AIL lock for update serialisation.

Currently, creating large xattr (e.g. 2k) in ea_inode would cause
ea_inode refcount corruption, e.g.
Pass 4: Checking reference counts
Extended attribute inode 13 ref count is 0, should be 1. Fix? no
This is because that we save the lower 32bit of refcount in
inode->i_version and store it in raw_inode->i_disk_version on disk.
But since commit ee73f9a52a ("ext4: convert to new i_version
API"), we load/store modified i_disk_version from/to disk instead of
raw value, which causes on-disk ea_inode refcount corruption.
Fix it by loading/storing raw i_version/i_disk_version, because it's
a self-managed value in this case.

I hit ENOSPC error when creating new file in a newly created ext4
with ea_inode feature enabled, if selinux is enabled and ext4 is
mounted without any selinux context. e.g.
mkfs -t ext4 -O ea_inode -F /dev/sda5
mount /dev/sda5 /mnt/ext4
touch /mnt/ext4/testfile # got ENOSPC here
It turns out that we run out of journal credits in
ext4_xattr_set_handle() when creating new selinux label for the
newly created inode.
This is because that in __ext4_new_inode() we use
__ext4_xattr_set_credits() to calculate the reserved credits for new
xattr, with the 'is_create' argument being true, which implies less
credits in the ea_inode case. But we calculate the required credits
in ext4_xattr_set_handle() with 'is_create' being false, which means
we need more credits if ea_inode feature is enabled. So we don't
have enough credits and error out with ENOSPC.
Fix it by simply calling ext4_xattr_set_handle() with XATTR_CREATE
flag in ext4_initxattrs(), so we end up with requiring less credits
than reserved. The semantic of XATTR_CREATE is "Perform a pure
create, which fails if the named attribute exists already." (from
setxattr(2)), which is fine in this case, because we only call
ext4_initxattrs() on newly created inode.

As the acpi code disables interrupts in acpi_idle_enter_bm, and calls
code that grabs the acpi lock, it causes issues as the lock is currently
in RT a sleeping lock.
The lock was converted from a raw to a sleeping lock due to some
previous issues, and tests that showed it didn't seem to matter.
Unfortunately, it did matter for one of our boxes.
This patch converts the lock back to a raw lock. I've run this code on a
few of my own machines, one being my laptop that uses the acpi quite
extensively. I've been able to suspend and resume without issues.

Provide a new lock type acpi_raw_spinlock which is implemented as
raw_spinlock_t on Linux. This type should be used in code which covers
small areas of code and disables interrupts only for short time even on
a realtime OS.
There is a fallback to spinlock_t if an OS does not provide an
implementation for acpi_raw_spinlock.

Replace the faulty PCC status register polling code with a iopoll.h
macro to fix incorrect reporting of PCC check errors ("PCC check
channel failed").
There were potential codepaths where we could incorrectly return
PCC channel status as busy even without checking the PCC status
register once or not checking the status register before breaking
out of the polling loop. For example, if the thread polling PCC
status register was preempted and scheduled back after we have
crossed the deadline then we can report that the channel is busy
even without checking the status register.

With commit af3ec837b8 (ACPI / AC: Add a blacklist with PMIC ACPI HIDs
with a native charger driver) a blacklist was introduced to avoid using
the ACPI drivers for AC when a native PMIC driver was already present.
While this is in general a good idea (because of broken DSDT or proprietary
and undocumented ACPI opregions for the ACPI AC devices) there are some
Cherry Trail devices which use a separate charger controller despite the
AXP288 having a builtin charger.
The net effect of blacklisting the ACPI drivers is that on these devices
the AC reporting is broken since the AXP288 PMIC charger bits are not
actually used on this hardware.
This commit adds an ac_do_not_check_pmic quirk for this and sets this on
the 2 devices currently known to use a separate FG controller,
the ECS EF20EA and the Lenovo Ideapad Miix 320.

The Point of View mobii wintab p800w Bay Trail tablet comes with a Crystal
Cove PMIC, yet uses the LPSS PWM for backlight control, rather then the
Crystal Cove's PWM, so we need to call pwm_add_table() to add a
pwm_backlight mapping for the LPSS pwm despite there being an INT33FD
ACPI device present.
On all Bay Trail devices the _HRV object of the INT33FD ACPI device
will normally return 2, to indicate the Bay Trail variant of the CRC
PMIC is present, except on this tablet where _HRV is 0xffff. I guess this
is a hack to make the windows Crystal Cove PWM driver not bind.
Out of the 44 DSTDs with an INT33FD device in there which I have (from
different model devices) only the pov mobii wintab p800w uses 0xffff for
the HRV.
The byt_pwm_setup code calls acpi_dev_present to check for the presence
of a INT33FD ACPI device which indicates that a CRC PMIC is present and
if the INT33FD ACPI device is present then byt_pwm_setup will not add
a pwm_backlight mapping for the LPSS pwm, so that the CRC PWM will get
used instead.
acpi_dev_present has a hrv parameter, this commit make us pass 2 instead
of -1, so that things still match on normal tablets, but on this special
case with its _HRV of 0xffff, the check will now fail so that the
pwm_backlight mapping for the LPSS pwm gets added fixing backlight
brightness control on this device.

Commit 0847684cfc (PCI / PM: Simplify device wakeup settings code)
went too far and dropped the device_may_wakeup() check from
pci_enable_wake() which causes wakeup to be enabled during system
suspend, hibernation or shutdown for some PCI devices that are not
allowed by user space to wake up the system from sleep (or power off).
As a result of this, excessive power is drawn by some of the affected
systems while in sleep states or off.
Restore the device_may_wakeup() check in pci_enable_wake(), but make
sure that the PCI bus type's runtime suspend callback will not call
device_may_wakeup() which is about system wakeup from sleep and not
about device wakeup from runtime suspend.

The functions batadv_tt_prepare_tvlv_local_data and
batadv_tt_prepare_tvlv_global_data are responsible for preparing a buffer
which can be used to store the TVLV container for TT and add the VLAN
information to it.
This will be done in three phases:
1. count the number of VLANs and their entries
2. allocate the buffer using the counters from the previous step and limits
from the caller (parameter tt_len)
3. insert the VLAN information to the buffer
The step 1 and 3 operate on a list which contains the VLANs. The access to
these lists must be protected with an appropriate lock or otherwise they
might operate on on different entries. This could for example happen when
another context is adding VLAN entries to this list.
This could lead to a buffer overflow in these functions when enough entries
were added between step 1 and 3 to the VLAN lists that the buffer room for
the entries (*tt_change) is smaller then the now required extra buffer for
new VLAN entries.

When a PCIe AER error occurs, the TLP header information is printed in the
kernel message but it is missing from the tracepoint. A userspace program
can use this information in the tracepoint to better analyze problems.
To enable the tracepoint:

If the systbl_chk.sh checks fail we print a message, but with no
indication that it's an error. That makes it hard to find in build
logs with eg. grep.
So prefix any output with "Error:".

Currently the select system call is wired up with the SYSX_SPU()
macro. The SYSX_SPU() is not handled by systbl_chk.c, which means the
syscall number for select is not checked.
That hides the fact that the syscall number for select is actually
__NR__newselect not __NR_select.
In a following patch we'd like to drop ppc32_select() which means
select will become a regular COMPAT_SYS_SPU() syscall. But
COMPAT_SYS_SPU() can't deal with the fact that the syscall number is
actually __NR__newselect. We also can't just redefine __NR_select
because that's still used for the old select call.
So add a new COMPAT_NEW_SPU() that does the same thing as
COMPAT_SYS_SPU() except it encodes that we're using the new number.

The "Power Architecture 64-Bit ELF V2 ABI" says in section 2.3.2.3:
[...] There are several rules that must be adhered to in order to ensure
reliable and consistent call chain backtracing:
* Before a function calls any other function, it shall establish its
own stack frame, whose size shall be a multiple of 16 bytes.
– In instances where a function’s prologue creates a stack frame, the
back-chain word of the stack frame shall be updated atomically with
the value of the stack pointer (r1) when a back chain is implemented.
(This must be supported as default by all ELF V2 ABI-compliant
environments.)
[...]
– The function shall save the link register that contains its return
address in the LR save doubleword of its caller’s stack frame before
calling another function.
To me this sounds like the equivalent of HAVE_RELIABLE_STACKTRACE.
This patch may be unneccessarily limited to ppc64le, but OTOH the only
user of this flag so far is livepatching, which is only implemented on
PPCs with 64-LE, a.k.a. ELF ABI v2.
Feel free to add other ppc variants, but so far only ppc64le got tested.
This change also implements save_stack_trace_tsk_reliable() for ppc64le
that checks for the above conditions, where possible.

Provide timebase and timebase of last heartbeat in watchdog lockup
messages. Also provide a stack trace of when a CPU becomes un-stuck,
which can be useful -- it could be where irqs are re-enabled, so it
may be the end of the critical section which is responsible for the
latency which is useful information.

The watchdog heartbeat timestamp is updated when the local heartbeat
timer fires (or touch_nmi_watchdog() is called).
This is an interesting data point, so don't overwrite it when the
soft-NMI interrupt detects a hard lockup. That code came from a pre-
merge version to prevent hard lockup messages flood, but that's taken
care of with the stuck CPU logic now, so there is no reason to
update the heartbeat timestamp here.

This is not the case for the moment, but future releases of pHyp might
need to introduce some synchronisation routines under the hood which
would make the XIVE hcalls longer to complete.
As this was done for H_INT_RESET, let's wrap the other hcalls in a
loop catching the H_LONG_BUSY_* codes.

while before retrying.

The kexec_state KEXEC_STATE_IRQS_OFF barrier is reached by all
secondary CPUs before the kexec_cpu_down() operation is called on
secondaries. This can raise conflicts and provoque errors in the XIVE
hcalls when XIVE is shutdown with H_INT_RESET on the primary CPU.
To synchronize the kexec_cpu_down() operations and make sure the
secondaries have completed their task before the primary starts doing
the same, let's move the primary kexec_cpu_down() after the
KEXEC_STATE_REAL_MODE barrier.
This change of the ending sequence of kexec is mostly useful on the
pseries platform but it impacts also the powernv, ps3 and 85xx
platforms. powernv can be easily tested and fixed but some caution is
required for the other two.

The Wii doesn't have built-in Ethernet and USB Ethernet adapters are in
a different menu. Disable CONFIG_ETHERNET to save some space in support
code for Ethernet drivers.
Note that this patch doesn't disable any Ethernet drivers, because they
are not enabled by default.

The hcall_exit() tracepoint has retval defined as unsigned long. That
leads to humours results like:

It's normal for some hcalls to return negative values, displaying them
as unsigned isn't very helpful. So change it to signed.

There are two places pointing to an unexisting "m.chehab@kernel.org"
email. I never had such email, so, I'm unsure how it ends there.
Anyway, it is plain wrong.
While here, use my canonical e-mail on a bunch of places that
are pointing to another e-mail. The idea is that, from now on,
all places will be pointing to the same SMTP server.

Most of the initialization are used for both of RC driver and
EP driver; factor the initialization out to a new function,
rockchip_pcie_init_port(), in pcie-rockchip.c and rename the
original function to rockchip_pcie_host_init_port() to avoid
confusion. No functional changed intended.
