807941b121 KVM: x86 emulator: Use ctxt->_eip directly in do_insn_fetch_byte()
Instead of passing ctxt->_eip from insn_fetch() call sites, get it from
ctxt in do_insn_fetch_byte().  This is done by replacing the argument
_eip of insn_fetch() with _ctxt, which should be better than letting the
macro use ctxt silently in its body.

Though this changes the place where ctxt->_eip is incremented from
insn_fetch() to do_insn_fetch_byte(), this does not have any real
effect.

743eeb0b01 KVM: Intelligent device lookup on I/O bus
Currently the method of dealing with an IO operation on a bus (PIO/MMIO)
is to call the read or write callback for each device registered
on the bus until we find a device which handles it.

Since the number of devices on a bus can be significant due to ioeventfds
and coalesced MMIO zones, this leads to a lot of overhead on each IO
operation.

Instead of registering devices, we now register ranges which points to
a device. Lookup is done using an efficient bsearch instead of a linear
search.

Performance test was conducted by comparing exit count per second with
200 ioeventfds created on one byte and the guest is trying to access a
different byte continuously (triggering usermode exits).
Before the patch the guest has achieved 259k exits per second, after the
patch the guest does 274k exits per second.

0d460ffc09 KVM: Use __print_symbolic() for vmexit tracepoints
The vmexit tracepoints format the exit_reason to make it human-readable.
Since the exit_reason depends on the instruction set (vmx or svm),
formatting is handled with ftrace_print_symbols_seq() by referring to
the appropriate exit reason table.

However, the ftrace_print_symbols_seq() function is not meant to be used
directly in tracepoints since it does not export the formatting table
which userspace tools like trace-cmd and perf use to format traces.

In practice perf dies when formatting vmexit-related events and
trace-cmd falls back to printing the numeric value (with extra
formatting code in the kvm plugin to paper over this limitation).  Other
userspace consumers of vmexit-related tracepoints would be in similar
trouble.

To avoid significant changes to the kvm_exit tracepoint, this patch
moves the vmx and svm exit reason tables into arch/x86/kvm/trace.h and
selects the right table with __print_symbolic() depending on the
instruction set.  Note that __print_symbolic() is designed for exporting
the formatting table to userspace and allows trace-cmd and perf to work.

e097e5ffd6 KVM: Record instruction set in all vmexit tracepoints
The kvm_exit tracepoint recently added the isa argument to aid decoding
exit_reason.  The semantics of exit_reason depend on the instruction set
(vmx or svm) and the isa argument allows traces to be analyzed on other
machines.

Add the isa argument to kvm_nested_vmexit and kvm_nested_vmexit_inject
so these tracepoints can also be self-describing.

d1613ad5d0 KVM: Really fix HV_X64_MSR_APIC_ASSIST_PAGE
Commit 0945d4b228 tried to fix the get_msr path for the
HV_X64_MSR_APIC_ASSIST_PAGE msr, but was poorly tested.  We should be
returning 0 if the read succeeded, and passing the value back to the
caller via the pdata out argument, not returning the value directly.

14fa67ee95 KVM: x86: get_msr support for HV_X64_MSR_APIC_ASSIST_PAGE
"get" support for the HV_X64_MSR_APIC_ASSIST_PAGE msr was missing, even
though it is explicitly enumerated as something the vmm should save in
msrs_to_save and reported to userland via the KVM_GET_MSR_INDEX_LIST
ioctl.

Add "get" support for HV_X64_MSR_APIC_ASSIST_PAGE.  We simply return the
guest visible value of this register, which seems to be correct as a set
on the register is validated for us already.

8c3ba334f8 KVM: x86: Raise the hard VCPU count limit
The patch raises the hard limit of VCPU count to 254.

This will allow developers to easily work on scalability
and will allow users to test high VCPU setups easily without
patching the kernel.

To prevent possible issues with current setups, KVM_CAP_NR_VCPUS
now returns the recommended VCPU limit (which is still 64) - this
should be a safe value for everybody, while a new KVM_CAP_MAX_VCPUS
returns the hard limit which is now 254.

If the range spans a page boundary, the mmio access can be broke, fix it as
write emulation.

c1df2dcc90 OMAP: Fix a BUG in l3 error handler.
With the current sequence of registering the irq and
assigning it to the app_irq, debug_irq driver variables,
there can be corner cases where the pending irq gets
triggered immediately after registering, handler gets called
resulting in a crash. So changed this sequence.

a867db10e8 xen/p2m: Make debug/xen/mmu/p2m visible again.
We dropped a lot of the MMU debugfs in favour of using
tracing API - but there is one which just provides
mostly static information that was made invisible by this change.

8fb54284ba ARM: mm: Add strongly ordered descriptor support.
On certain architectures, there might be a need to mark certain
addresses with strongly ordered memory attributes to avoid ordering
issues at the interconnect level.

On OMAP4, the asynchronous bridge buffers can only be drained
with strongly ordered accesses and hence the need to mark the
memory strongly ordered.

When the cpu is powered down in a low power mode, the gic cpu
interface may be reset, and when the cpu cluster is powered
down, the gic distributor may also be reset.

This patch uses CPU_PM_ENTER and CPU_PM_EXIT notifiers to save
and restore the gic cpu interface registers, and the
CPU_CLUSTER_PM_ENTER and CPU_CLUSTER_PM_EXIT notifiers to save
and restore the gic distributor registers.

3439a397a8 ARM i.MX avic: convert to use generic irq chip
Convert i.MX avic irq handler to use generic irq chip. This not only
provides a cleanup implementation of irq chip handler, but also
implements suspend/resume interface with the help of generic irq chip
interface.

Change mxc_irq_chip to a new structure mxc_extra_irq to handle fiq
and priority functions.

d12b524f8b powerpc: Reserve iommu page 0
Some devices have a dma-window that starts at the address 0. This allows
DMA addresses to be mapped to this address and returned to drivers as a
valid DMA address. Some drivers may not behave well in this case, since
the address 0 is considered an error or not allocated.

The solution to avoid this kind of error from happening is reserve the
page addressed as 0 so it cannot be allocated for a DMA mapping.

25c29f9e32 powerpc: Fix hugetlb with CONFIG_PPC_MM_SLICES=y
Commit 41151e77a4 ("powerpc: Hugetlb for BookE") added some
#ifdef CONFIG_MM_SLICES conditionals to hugetlb_get_unmapped_area()
and vma_mmu_pagesize().  Unfortunately this is not the correct config
symbol; it should be CONFIG_PPC_MM_SLICES.  The result is that
attempting to use hugetlbfs on 64-bit Power server processors results
in an infinite stack recursion between get_unmapped_area() and
hugetlb_get_unmapped_area().

This fixes it by changing the #ifdef to use CONFIG_PPC_MM_SLICES
in those functions and also in book3e_hugetlb_preload().

c68308dd50 gpio: move mpc8xxx/512x gpio driver to drivers/gpio
Move the driver to the place where it is expected to be nowadays. Also
rename its CONFIG-name to match the rest and adapt the defconfigs.
Finally, move selection of REQUIRE_GPIOLIB or WANTS_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB to
the platforms, because this option is per-platform and not per-driver.

timer0 and timer1 pins are used as simple GPIO on this board.
Add gpio-controller and #gpio-cells properties to timer nodes
so that we can control gpio lines using available MPC52xx

Add new nodes to describe more hardware the board is
equipped with:
 - two can nodes for SJA1000 on localbus
 - pci node to support Coral-PA graphics controller
 - serial node for SC28L92 DUART on localbus
 - spi node for MSP430 device

Also correct i2c eeprom node name.

55e901fc1f xen/pci: support multi-segment systems
Now that the hypercall interface changes are in -unstable, make the
kernel side code not ignore the segment (aka domain) number anymore
(which results in pretty odd behavior on such systems). Rather, if
only the old interfaces are available, don't call them for devices on
non-zero segments at all.

For Seaboard's internal eMMC, this makes the difference between a
5.5MB/s and 10.2MB/s transfer rate. On Harmony, there wasn't any
measurable difference on my cheap/slow ~2MB/s card.

4702abd3f9 ARM: mach-nuc93x: delete
This architecture received only generic maintenance since December 2009
when it was originally submitted, and no actual additional support since
then.  It has no defconfig entry either, meaning that it was never built
by the ARM KAutobuild.  Incidentally it currently doesn't build either
when CONFIG_MACH_NUC932EVB is selected which is the only possible config
choice.

This is therefore dead code and should be removed.  If someone wants to
revive this code, it could be retrieved from the Git repository, and
ideally be merged in mach-w90x900/ instead.
