found a way to extract InodeCache from git index
...
This will allow a race-free database transition. It is somewhat hairy in
that it depends on an unspecified git output format.

horrible impementation of isInodeKnown
...
The only good thing about it is it does not require a major version bump
to improve the database. That will need to happen at some point though.
Potentially very very slow in a large repository.
Ugly use of raw sql.

re-investigated sqlite encoding issues
...
It's really persistent causing the problem, and BLOB really seems the
only way around it.
