I have a big NAS drive where I keep all my music, tv, and movies files, each in their own git annex. I tend to keep the media that I want to watch or listen to on my laptop and then drop it when it is done. This way I don't have too much on my laptop at any one time, but I have a nice selection for when I'm traveling and don't have access to my NAS. + +Additionally, I have a mp3 player that will format itself randomly every few months or so. I keep my podcasts on it in a git annex and in a git annex on my laptop. When I am done with a podcast, I can delete it from the mp3 player and then sync that information with my laptop. With this method, I have a backup of what should be on my mp3 player, so I don't need to worry about losing it all when the mp3 player decides it's had enough. +"""]]
