I guess the \"sync\" in `git-annex-sync` made me think of file synchronizers like `rsync`, which do bring in all remote files not currently local. Maybe just change the manpage to clarify that `git-annex-sync` only synchronizes with [[_enabled_|git-annex-enableremote]] remotes.
