commit d5a49aa6c3 upstream.
In order to test ndo_start_xmit being called in parallel, explicitly add
separate tests, which should all run on different cores. This should
help tease out bugs associated with queueing up packets from different
cores in parallel. Currently, it hasn't found those types of bugs, but
given future planned work, this is a useful regression to avoid.

commit bfe3911a91 upstream.
Userspace has discovered the functionality offered by SYS_kcmp and has
started to depend upon it. In particular, Mesa uses SYS_kcmp for
os_same_file_description() in order to identify when two fd (e.g. device
or dmabuf) point to the same struct file. Since they depend on it for
core functionality, lift SYS_kcmp out of the non-default
CONFIG_CHECKPOINT_RESTORE into the selectable syscall category.
Rasmus Villemoes also pointed out that systemd uses SYS_kcmp to
deduplicate the per-service file descriptor store.
Note that some distributions such as Ubuntu are already enabling
CHECKPOINT_RESTORE in their configs and so, by extension, SYS_kcmp.

The ubsan reported the following error. It was because sample's raw
data missed u32 padding at the end. So it broke the alignment of the
array after it.
The raw data contains an u32 size prefix so the data size should have
an u32 padding after 8-byte aligned data.

Commit da231338ec ("perf record: Use an eventfd to wakeup when
done") uses eventfd() to solve a rare race where the setting and
checking of 'done' which add done_fd to pollfd. When draining buffer,
revents of done_fd is 0 and evlist__filter_pollfd function returns a
non-zero value. As a result, perf record does not stop profiling.
The following simple scenarios can trigger this condition:
# sleep 10 &
# perf record -p $!
After the sleep process exits, perf record should stop profiling and exit.
However, perf record keeps running.
If pollfd revents contains only POLLERR or POLLHUP, perf record
indicates that buffer is draining and need to stop profiling. Use
fdarray_flag__nonfilterable() to set done eventfd to nonfilterable
objects, so that evlist__filter_pollfd() does not filter and check done
eventfd.

The first time dso__load() was called on a PE file it always returned -1
error. This caused the first call to map__find_symbol() to always fail
on a PE file so the first sample from each PE file always had symbol
<unknown>. Subsequent samples succeed however because the DSO is already
loaded.
This fixes dso__load() to return 0 when successfully loading a DSO with
libbfd.

the kerne's usr/include dir, which caused the asm/ioctl.h file
to be used.
Unfortunately, that file has different values for _IOC_SIZEBITS
and _IOC_WRITE than include/uapi/asm-generic/ioctl.h which then
causes the _IOCW macros to give the wrong ioctl numbers,
specifically for DMA_BUF_IOCTL_SYNC.
This patch simply removes the extra include from the Makefile

With my version of GCC 9.3.1 the ".cold" subfunctions no longer have a
numbered suffix, so the trailing period is no longer there.
Presumably this doesn't yet trigger a user-visible bug since most of the
subfunction detection logic is duplicated. I only found it when

When libbpf initializes the kernel's struct_ops in
"bpf_map__init_kern_struct_ops()", it enforces all
pointer types must be a function pointer and rejects
others. It turns out to be too strict. For example,
when directly using "struct tcp_congestion_ops" from vmlinux.h,
it has a "struct module *owner" member and it is set to NULL
in a bpf_tcp_cc.o.
Instead, it only needs to ensure the member is a function
pointer if it has been set (relocated) to a bpf-prog.
This patch moves the "btf_is_func_proto(kern_mtype)" check
after the existing "if (!prog) { continue; }". The original debug
message in "if (!prog) { continue; }" is also removed since it is
no longer valid. Beside, there is a later debug message to tell
which function pointer is set.
The "btf_is_func_proto(mtype)" has already been guaranteed
in "bpf_object__collect_st_ops_relos()" which has been run
before "bpf_map__init_kern_struct_ops()". Thus, this check
is removed.
v2:
- Remove outdated debug message (Andrii)
Remove because there is a later debug message to tell
which function pointer is set.
- Following mtype->type is no longer needed. Remove:
"skip_mods_and_typedefs(btf, mtype->type, &mtype_id)"
- Do "if (!prog)" test before skip_mods_and_typedefs.

The test_xdp_redirect.sh script uses a bash feature, '&>'. On systems,
e.g. Debian, where '/bin/sh' is dash, this will not work as
expected. Use bash in the shebang to get the expected behavior.
Further, using 'set -e' means that the error of a command cannot be
captured without the command being executed with '&&' or '||'. Let us
restructure the ping-commands, and use them as an if-expression, so
that we can capture the return value.
v4: Added missing Fixes:, and removed local variables. (Andrii)

For incfs files that were created without a merkle tree, enabling verity
requires building a merkle tree first. Although this is the same logic
as verity performs, it is not that easy to reconcile the two given that
incfs has the merkle tree potentially when verity is not enabled.

commit 44f6a7c075 upstream.
The Clang assembler likes to strip section symbols, which means objtool
can't reference some text code by its section. This confuses objtool
greatly, causing it to seg fault.
The fix is similar to what was done before, for ORC reloc generation:
e81e072443 ("objtool: Support Clang non-section symbols in ORC generation")
Factor out that code into a common helper and use it for static call

Patch series "kasan: HW_TAGS tests support and fixes", v4.
This patchset adds support for running KASAN-KUnit tests with the
hardware tag-based mode and also contains a few fixes.
This patch (of 15):
There's a number of internal KASAN functions that are used across multiple
source code files and therefore aren't marked as static inline. To avoid
littering the kernel function names list with generic function names,
prefix all such KASAN functions with kasan_.
As a part of this change:
- Rename internal (un)poison_range() to kasan_(un)poison() (no _range)
to avoid name collision with a public kasan_unpoison_range().
- Rename check_memory_region() to kasan_check_range(), as it's a more
fitting name.

This is basically a revert of commit 644592d328 ("objtool: Fail the
kernel build on fatal errors").
That change turned out to be more trouble than it's worth. Failing the
build is an extreme measure which sometimes gets too much attention and
blocks CI build testing.
These fatal-type warnings aren't yet as rare as we'd hope, due to the
ever-increasing matrix of supported toolchains/plugins and their
fast-changing nature as of late.
Also, there are more people (and bots) looking for objtool warnings than
ever before, so even non-fatal warnings aren't likely to be ignored for
long.

/tmp/cco4l14N.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/cco4l14N.s:1440: Error: `lmw' invalid when little-endian
/tmp/cco4l14N.s:1814: Error: `stmw' invalid when little-endian
make[2]: *** [../../lib.mk:139: /output/kselftest/powerpc/alignment/alignment_handler] Error 1
These tests do pass on little endian machines, as the kernel will
still emulate those instructions even when running little
endian (which is arguably a kernel bug).
But we don't really need to test that case, so ifdef those
instructions out to get the alignment test building again.

Building with the Clang assembler shows the following warning:
arch/x86/kernel/ftrace_64.o: warning: objtool: missing symbol for insn at offset 0x16
The Clang assembler strips section symbols. That ends up giving
objtool's find_func_containing() much more test coverage than normal.
Turns out, find_func_containing() doesn't work so well for overlapping
symbols:
2: 000000000000000e 0 NOTYPE LOCAL DEFAULT 2 fgraph_trace
3: 000000000000000f 0 NOTYPE LOCAL DEFAULT 2 trace
4: 0000000000000000 165 FUNC GLOBAL DEFAULT 2 __fentry__
5: 000000000000000e 0 NOTYPE GLOBAL DEFAULT 2 ftrace_stub
The zero-length NOTYPE symbols are inside __fentry__(), confusing the
rbtree search for any __fentry__() offset coming after a NOTYPE.
Try to avoid this problem by not adding zero-length symbols to the
rbtree. They're rare and aren't needed in the rbtree anyway.
One caveat, this actually might not end up being the right fix.
Non-empty overlapping symbols, if they exist, could have the same
problem. But that would need bigger changes, let's see if we can get
away with the easy fix for now.

When BIOS disables turbo, The scaling_max_freq in cpufreq sysfs will be
limited to config level 0 base frequency. But when user selects a higher
config levels, this will result in higher base frequency. But since
scaling_max_freq is still old base frequency, the performance will still
be limited. So when the turbo is disabled and cpufreq base_frequency is
higher than scaling_max_freq, update the scaling_max_freq to the
base_frequency.

This is because the $lret in check_xfrm() is not a local variable.
Therefore when a test failed in check_exceptions(), the non-zero $lret
will later get reset to 0 when the next test calls check_xfrm().
With this fix, the final return value will be 1. Make it easier for
testers to spot this failure.

commit 1d489151e9 upstream.
Thanks to a recent binutils change which doesn't generate unused
symbols, it's now possible for thunk_64.o be completely empty without
CONFIG_PREEMPTION: no text, no data, no symbols.
We could edit the Makefile to only build that file when
CONFIG_PREEMPTION is enabled, but that will likely create confusion
if/when the thunks end up getting used by some other code again.
Just ignore it and move on.

DEMUX register presence depends on the host's hardware (the
CLIDR_EL1 register to be precise). This means there's no set
of them that we can bless and that it's possible to encounter
new ones when running on different hardware (which would
generate "Consider adding them ..." messages, but we'll never
want to add them.)
Remove the ones we have in the blessed list and filter them
out of the new list, but also provide a new command line switch
to list them if one so desires.
