825c1ae065 usb: gadget: composite: fix incorrect handling of OS desc requests
[ Upstream commit 5d6ae4f0da ]

When handling an OS descriptor request, one of the first operations is
to zero out the request buffer using the wLength from the setup packet.
There is no bounds checking, so a wLength > 4096 would clobber memory
adjacent to the request buffer. Fix this by taking the min of wLength
and the request buffer length prior to the memset. While at it, define
the buffer length in a header file so that magic numbers don't appear
throughout the code.

When returning data to the host, the data length should be the min of
the wLength and the valid data we have to return. Currently we are
returning wLength, thus requests for a wLength greater than the amount
of data in the OS descriptor buffer would return invalid (albeit zero'd)
data following the valid descriptor data. Fix this by counting the
number of bytes when constructing the data and using this when
determining the length of the request.

6f0fe931c5 BACKPORT: usb: gadget: add tracepoints to the gadget API
This new set of tracepoints will help all gadget
drivers and UDC drivers when problem appears. Note
that, in order to be able to add tracepoints to
udc-core.c we had to rename that to core.c and
statically link it with trace.c to form
udc-core.o. This is to make sure that module name
stays the same.

only GPL drivers will use them.

As a side effect, it'll be nicer to add tracepoints
to the gadget API.

While at that, also fix Kconfig dependencies to

01de6f0d94 usb: gadget: fix usb_ep_align_maybe endianness and new usb_ep_align
commit 16b114a6d7 upstream.

USB spec specifies wMaxPacketSize to be little endian (as other properties),
so when using this variable in the driver we should convert to the current
CPU endianness if necessary.

This patch also introduces usb_ep_align() which does always returns the
aligned buffer size for an endpoint. This is useful to be used by USB requests
allocator functions.

38f5419448 usb: quirks: add control message delay for 1b1c:1b20
commit cb88a05887 upstream.

Corsair Strafe RGB keyboard does not respond to usb control messages
sometimes and hence generates timeouts.

Commit de3af5bf25 ("usb: quirks: add delay init quirk for Corsair
Strafe RGB keyboard") tried to fix those timeouts by adding
USB_QUIRK_DELAY_INIT.

Unfortunately, even with this quirk timeouts of usb_control_msg()
can still be seen, but with a lower frequency (approx. 1 out of 15):

[ 29.103520] usb 1-8: string descriptor 0 read error: -110
[ 34.363097] usb 1-8: can't set config #1, error -110

Adding further delays to different locations where usb control
messages are issued just moves the timeouts to other locations,
e.g.:

[ 35.400533] usbhid 1-8:1.0: can't add hid device: -110
[ 35.401014] usbhid: probe of 1-8:1.0 failed with error -110

The only way to reliably avoid those issues is having a pause after
each usb control message. In approx. 200 boot cycles no more timeouts
were seen.

Addionaly, keep USB_QUIRK_DELAY_INIT as it turned out to be necessary
to have the delay in hub_port_connect() after hub_port_init().

The overall boot time seems not to be influenced by these additional
delays, even on fast machines and lightweight distributions.

62932c7e33 usb: amend ehci no-relinquish-port for rk3288 platform
For the hardware bug of RK3288 OHCI, we use commit cfe6f1dd57
("usb: ehci: add rockchip relinquishing port quirk support") to fix
it previously. However, it have been ineffective after upstream commit
94c43b9897 ("USB: Check for dropped connection before switching to
full speed") was merged due to the condition of relinquishing port was
changed.

This patch adds an additional condition for the previous commit to ensure
no relinquish port quirk can take effect for RK3288 EHCI.

75f82a703b cdc_ncm: Set NTB format again after altsetting switch for Huawei devices
commit 2b02c20ce0 upstream.

Some firmwares in Huawei E3372H devices have been observed to switch back
to NTB 32-bit format after altsetting switch.
This patch implements a driver flag to check for the device settings and
set NTB format to 16-bit again if needed.
The flag has been activated for devices controlled by the huawei_cdc_ncm.c
driver.

V1->V2:
- fixed broken error checks
- some corrections to the commit message
V2->V3:
- variable name changes, to clarify what's happening
- check (and possibly set) the NTB format later in the common bind code path

2428776eb1 usb: chipidea: Handle extcon events properly
commit a89b94b533 upstream.

We're currently emulating the vbus and id interrupts in the OTGSC
read API, but we also need to make sure that if we're handling
the events with extcon that we don't enable the interrupts for
those events in the hardware. Therefore, properly emulate this
register if we're using extcon, but don't enable the interrupts.
This allows me to get my cable connect/disconnect working
properly without getting spurious interrupts on my device that
uses an extcon for these two events.

12b5fa422a CHROMIUM: xhci: fix USB3 device undetected after resume
Some xHC controllers (e.g. Rockchip rk3399) integrated in
DWC3 IP, will be powered down in S3, and reinitialized after
resume.

However, if a USB3 device is plugged before system enter S3,
the device will be disconnected after resume because of xHC
lose power. And the device can't be detected again even if
we reinitialize xHC. In this case, CCS and CSC is '0' and
can't reflect the current state of the port, also the link
state stays in Rx.Detect.

So try to do warm reset on resume to reset USB3 device to
the default state, also reset a USB3 link, and re-exchange
link configuration information.

BUG=chrome-os-partner:58347
TEST=Plug an USB3 flash drive in rk3399 Kevin board Type-C
port, then set system enter S3. Wakeup system, check if USB3
device can be detected after resume.

2c929ea720 usb-core: Add LINEAR_FRAME_INTR_BINTERVAL USB quirk
commit 3243367b20 upstream.

Some USB 2.0 devices erroneously report millisecond values in
bInterval. The generic config code manages to catch most of them,
but in some cases it's not completely enough.

The case at stake here is a USB 2.0 braille device, which wants to
announce 10ms and thus sets bInterval to 10, but with the USB 2.0
computation that yields to 64ms. It happens that one can type fast
enough to reach this interval and get the device buffers overflown,
leading to problematic latencies. The generic config code does not
catch this case because the 64ms is considered a sane enough value.

This change thus adds a USB_QUIRK_LINEAR_FRAME_INTR_BINTERVAL quirk
to mark devices which actually report milliseconds in bInterval,
and marks Vario Ultra devices as needing it.

ac1a97d8a5 usb: core: hub: hub_port_init lock controller instead of bus
commit feb26ac31a upstream.

The XHCI controller presents two USB buses to the system - one for USB2
and one for USB3. The hub init code (hub_port_init) is reentrant but
only locks one bus per thread, leading to a race condition failure when
two threads attempt to simultaneously initialise a USB2 and USB3 device:

[ 8.034843] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device command
[ 13.183701] usb 3-3: device descriptor read/all, error -110

On a test system this failure occurred on 6% of all boots.

Mathias Nyman explains the current behaviour violates the XHCI spec:

hub_port_reset() will end up moving the corresponding xhci device slot
 to default state.

As hub_port_reset() is called several times in hub_port_init() it
sounds reasonable that we could end up with two threads having their
xhci device slots in default state at the same time, which according to
xhci 4.5.3 specs still is a big no no:

"Note: Software shall not transition more than one Device Slot to the
  Default State at a time"

So both threads fail at their next task after this.
One fails to read the descriptor, and the other fails addressing the
 device.

Fix this in hub_port_init by locking the USB controller (instead of an
individual bus) to prevent simultaneous initialisation of both buses.

4eab21e6bf usb: host: xhci: set xhci autosuspend quirk based on platform data
Some USB controllers (such as rk3328 SoC DWC3 controller with INNO
USB 3.0 PHY) don't support autosuspend well, when receive remote

the correct PLC is Resume->Recovery->U0, but when the issue happens,
the wrong PLC is Resume->Recovery->Inactive, cause resuming SS port

This patch add a quirk to disable autosuspend function, and add new
'usb3_disable_autosuspend' member in xHCI platform data to support
set the quirk based on platform data.

a905504e41 UPSTREAM: USB: Fix of_usb_get_dr_mode_by_phy with a shared phy block
Some SoCs have a single phy-hw-block with multiple phys, this is
modelled by a single phy dts node, so we end up with multiple
controller nodes with a phys property pointing to the phy-node
of the otg-phy.

Only one of these controllers typically is an otg controller, yet we
were checking the first controller who uses a phy from the block and
then end up looking for a dr_mode property in e.g. the ehci controller.

This commit fixes this by adding an arg0 parameter to
of_usb_get_dr_mode_by_phy and make of_usb_get_dr_mode_by_phy
check that this matches the phandle args[0] value when looking for
the otg controller.

7577b85419 USB: EHCI: declare hostpc register as zero-length array
commit 7e8b3dfef1 upstream.

The HOSTPC extension registers found in some EHCI implementations form
a variable-length array, with one element for each port. Therefore
the hostpc field in struct ehci_regs should be declared as a
zero-length array, not a single-element array.

This fixes a problem reported by UBSAN.

ce31762e99 usb: phy: Dual role sysfs class definition
This CL adds a new class to monitor and change
dual role usb ports from userspace. The usb
phy drivers can register to the dual_role_usb
class and expose the capabilities of the ports.
The phy drivers can decide on whether a specific
attribute can be changed from userspace by
choosing to implement the appropriate callback.

272014a78e usb: gadget: accessory: Add Android Accessory function
USB accessory mode allows users to connect USB host hardware
specifically designed for Android-powered devices. The accessories
must adhere to the Android accessory protocol outlined in the
http://accessories.android.com documentation. This allows
Android devices that cannot act as a USB host to still interact with
USB hardware. When an Android device is in USB accessory mode, the
attached Android USB accessory acts as the host, provides power
to the USB bus, and enumerates connected devices.

1dfddff5fc net: cdc_ncm: avoid changing RX/TX buffers on MTU changes
NCM buffer sizes are negotiated with the device independently of
the network device MTU. The RX buffers are allocated by the
usbnet framework based on the rx_urb_size value set by cdc_ncm. A
single RX buffer can hold a number of MTU sized packets.

The default usbnet change_mtu ndo only modifies rx_urb_size if it
is equal to hard_mtu. And the cdc_ncm driver will set rx_urb_size
and hard_mtu independently of each other, based on dwNtbInMaxSize
and dwNtbOutMaxSize respectively. It was therefore assumed that
usbnet_change_mtu() would never touch rx_urb_size. This failed to
consider the case where dwNtbInMaxSize and dwNtbOutMaxSize happens
to be equal.

Fix by implementing an NCM specific change_mtu ndo, modifying the
netdev MTU without touching the buffer size settings.
