c33f543d32 oprofile: Add Support for Intel CPU Family 6 / Model 22 (Intel Celeron 540)
This patch adds CPU type detection for the Intel Celeron 540, which is
part of the Core 2 family according to Wikipedia; the family and ID pair
is absent from the Volume 3B table referenced in the source code
comments.  I have tested this patch on an Intel Celeron 540 machine
reporting itself as Family 6 Model 22, and OProfile runs on the machine
without issue.

801e147cde r8169: Handle rxfifo errors on 8168 chips
The Thinkpad X100e seems to have some odd behaviour when the display is
powered off - the onboard r8169 starts generating rxfifo overflow errors.
The root cause of this has not yet been identified and may well be a
hardware design bug on the platform, but r8169 should be more resiliant to
this. This patch enables the rxfifo interrupt on 8168 devices and removes
the MAC version check in the interrupt handler, and the machine no longer
crashes when under network load while the screen turns off.

b4aaa78f4c drivers/video/via/ioctl.c: prevent reading uninitialized stack memory
The VIAFB_GET_INFO device ioctl allows unprivileged users to read 246
bytes of uninitialized stack memory, because the "reserved" member of
the viafb_ioctl_info struct declared on the stack is not altered or
zeroed before being copied back to the user.  This patch takes care of
it.

vortex_set_wol protected with a spinlock, but nested  acpi_set_WOL acquires a mutex inside atomic context.
Ethtool operations are already serialized by RTNL mutex, so it is safe to drop the locks.

01f83d6984 tcp: Prevent overzealous packetization by SWS logic.
If peer uses tiny MSS (say, 75 bytes) and similarly tiny advertised
window, the SWS logic will packetize to half the MSS unnecessarily.

This causes problems with some embedded devices.

However for large MSS devices we do want to half-MSS packetize
otherwise we never get enough packets into the pipe for things
like fast retransmit and recovery to work.

Be careful also to handle the case where MSS > window, otherwise
we'll never send until the probe timer.

0e901bed4e watchdog: ts72xx_wdt: disable watchdog at probe
Since it may be already enabled by bootloader or some other utility. This patch
makes sure that the watchdog is disabled before any userspace daemon opens the
device. It is also required by the watchdog API.

b76dc05467 pcmcia pcnet_cs: try setting io_lines to 16 if card setup fails
Some pcnet_cs compatible cards require an exact 16-lines match
of the ioport areas specified in CIS, but set the "iolines"
value in the CIS incorrectly. We can easily work around this
issue -- same as we do in serial_cs -- by first trying setting
iolines to the CIS-specified value, and then trying a 16-line
match.

74fca9da09 arch/tile: Change struct sigcontext to be more useful
Rather than just using pt_regs, it now contains the actual saved
state explicitly, similar to pt_regs.  By doing it this way, we
provide a cleaner API for userspace (or equivalently, we avoid the
need for libc to provide its own definition of sigcontext).

While we're at it, move PT_FLAGS_xxx to where they are not visible
from userspace.  And always pass siginfo and mcontext to signal
handlers, even if they claim they don't need it, since sometimes
they actually try to use it anyway in practice.

38a81da220 perf events: Clean up pid passing
The kernel perf event creation path shouldn't use find_task_by_vpid()
because a vpid exists in a specific namespace. find_task_by_vpid() uses
current's pid namespace which isn't always the correct namespace to use
for the vpid in all the places perf_event_create_kernel_counter() (and
thus find_get_context()) is called.

The goal is to clean up pid namespace handling and prevent bugs like:

Instead of using pids switch find_get_context() to use task struct
pointers directly. The syscall is responsible for resolving the pid to
a task struct. This moves the pid namespace resolution into the syscall
much like every other syscall that takes pid parameters.

2ebd4ffb6d perf events: Split out task search into helper
Split out the code which searches for non-exiting tasks into its own
helper. Creating this helper not only makes the code slightly more
readable it prepares to move the search out of find_get_context() in
a subsequent commit.

d958077d00 hw breakpoints: Fix pid namespace bug
Hardware breakpoints can't be registered within pid namespaces
because tsk->pid is passed rather than the pid in the current
namespace.

(See https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17281 )

This is a quick fix demonstrating the problem but is not the
best method of solving the problem since passing pids internally
is not the best way to avoid pid namespace bugs. Subsequent patches
will show a better solution.

d9ca07a05c watchdog: Avoid kernel crash when disabling watchdog
In case you boot with the watchdog disabled, i.e., nowatchdog, then,
if you try to disable it via /proc/sys/kernel/watchdog, you get
a kernel crash. The reason is that you are trying to cancel a hrtimer
which has never been initialized.

This patch fixes this by skipping execution of
watchdog_disable_all_cpus() when the watchdog is marked
disabled from boot.

e75e863dd5 sched: Fix user time incorrectly accounted as system time on 32-bit
We have 32-bit variable overflow possibility when multiply in
task_times() and thread_group_times() functions. When the
overflow happens then the scaled utime value becomes erroneously
small and the scaled stime becomes i erroneously big.

79e406d7b0 tracing: Remove leftover FTRACE_ENABLE/DISABLE_MCOUNT enums
The enums for FTRACE_ENABLE_MCOUNT and FTRACE_DISABLE_MCOUNT were
used as commands to ftrace_run_update_code(). But these commands
were used by the old nasty ftrace daemon that has long been slain.

This is a clean up patch to remove the references to these enums
and simplify the code a little.

fe725d4f22 drm/radeon/kms: only warn on mipmap size checks in r600 cs checker (v2)
The texture base address registers are in units of 256 bytes.
The original CS checker treated these offsets as bytes, so the
original check was wrong.  I fixed the units in a patch during
the 2.6.36 cycle, but this ended up breaking some existing
userspace (probably due to a bug in either userspace texture allocation
or the drm texture mipmap checker).  So for now, until we come
up with a better fix, just warn if the mipmap size it too large.
This will keep existing userspace working and it should be just
as safe as before when we were checking the wrong units.  These
are GPU MC addresses, so if they fall outside of the VRAM or
GART apertures, they end up at the GPU default page, so this should
be safe from a security perspective.

v2: Just disable the warning.  It just spams the log and there's
nothing the user can do about it.

b304d0441a tracing: Do not trace in irq when funcgraph-irq option is zero
When the function graph tracer funcgraph-irq option is zero, disable
tracing in IRQs. This makes the option have two effects.

1) When reading the trace file, do not display the functions that
   happen in interrupt context (when detected)

2) [*new*] When recording a trace, skip those that are detected
   to be in interrupt by the 'in_irq()' function

Note, in_irq() is updated at irq_enter() and irq_exit(). There are
still functions that are recorded by the function graph tracer that
is in interrupt context but outside the irq_enter/exit() routines.

2bd16212b8 tracing: Add funcgraph-irq option for function graph tracer.
It's handy to be able to disable the irq related output
and not to have to jump over each irq related code, when
you have no interrest in it.

The option is by default enabled, so there's no change to
current behaviour. It affects only the final output, so all
the irq related data stay in the ring buffer.
