o PF driver should not indicate PVID configuration to VF driver.
As adapter supports VLAN stripping, VF driver should stay agnostic
to any PVID configuration.
o Return "QLC_NO_VLAN_MODE(= 0)" to VFD when PVID is configured.
VF driver should be in no VLAN configuration mode.

Commit dc975382 "net: fec: add napi support to improve proformance"
converted the fec driver to the napi model. However, that commit
forgot to remove the call to skb_defer_rx_timestamp which is only
needed in non-napi drivers.
(The function napi_gro_receive eventually calls netif_receive_skb,
which in turn calls skb_defer_rx_timestamp.)
This patch should also be applied to the 3.9 and 3.10 kernels.

My static checker complains that on some arches unsigned longs can be 8
characters which is larger than the buffer is only 6 chars.
Additionally, Ben Hutchings points out that the buffer actually holds
big endian data and the buffer we are reading from is CPU endian.

Some synopsys ip implementation doesn't support DMA store and forward mode,
such as BF60x. So, set force_thresh_dma_mode to use DMA thresholds only.
Update document and devicetree as well.

__GFP_ZERO is an uncommon flag and perhaps is better
not used. static inline dma_zalloc_coherent exists
so convert the uses of dma_alloc_coherent with __GFP_ZERO
to the more common kernel style with zalloc.
Remove memset from the static inline dma_zalloc_coherent
and add just one use of __GFP_ZERO instead.
Trivially reduces the size of the existing uses of
dma_zalloc_coherent.
Realign arguments as appropriate.

the .get_clock() callback is run from probe() and might allocate
resources, introduce a .put_clock() callback that is run from remove()
to undo any allocation activities
prepare and enable the clocks in open(), disable and unprepare the
clocks in close() if clocks were acquired during probe(), to not assume
knowledge about which activities are done in probe() and remove()
use devm_get_clk() to lookup the SYS and REF clocks, to have the clocks
put upon device shutdown
store pointers to data structures upon successful allocation already
instead of deferral until complete setup, such that subroutines in the
setup sequence may access those data structures as well to track their
resource acquisition
since clock allocation remains optional, the release callback as well as
the enable/disable calls in open/close are optional as well
