Avoid that bus_unregister() triggers a use-after-free with
CONFIG_DEBUG_KOBJECT_RELEASE=y. This patch avoids that the
following sequence triggers a kernel crash with memory poisoning
enabled:
* bus_register()
* driver_register()
* driver_unregister()
* bus_unregister()
The above sequence causes the bus private data to be freed from
inside the bus_unregister() call although it is not guaranteed in
that function that the reference count on the bus private data has
dropped to zero. As an example, with CONFIG_DEBUG_KOBJECT_RELEASE=y
the ${bus}/drivers kobject is still holding a reference on
bus->p->subsys.kobj via its parent pointer at the time the bus
private data is freed. Fix this by deferring freeing the bus private
data until the last kobject_put() call on bus->p->subsys.kobj.
The kernel oops triggered by the above sequence and with memory
poisoning enabled and that is fixed by this patch is as follows:

The nwbutton driver uses interruptible_sleep_on to wait for buttons
getting pressed after we enter the read() function, which is inherently
racy and cannot be fixed by using wait_event without changing the
driver's user space interface.
Instead, this patch just uses an open-coded variant of the same
interruptible_sleep_on() call, so the driver behavior doesn't change
but we remove the sleep_on family from the kernel.

GCC is correct. See, the call chain that GCC detects must be
main()
amt_host_if_init()
mei_init()
mei_deinit()
But when we enter mei_deinit() struct amt_host_if acmd is still
unitialized. That makes the test for (effectively) amt_host_if->mei_cl->fd
bogus.
But it turns out that call of mei_deinit() isn't needed at all. All of
the members of mei_cl will be set later in mei_init() and none will be
used before they are set. So we can simply drop this call of
mei_deinit().

interruptible_sleep_on_timeout is deprecated and going away soon.
The use in the sgi-xp driver leaves me puzzled, so I'd prefer not
to touch it. This patch replaces it with an open-coded prepare_to_wait
and finish_wait pair, which should be completely equivalent, so it
doesn't fix an existing race, but lets us get away with removing
the function so we can not get any new users.
In order to remove the typical sleep_on race, one would have to
replace the call with wait_event_interruptible_timeout and add
a condition to wait for. The fact that there is a one-jiffy timeout
suggests that we don't actually expect to get woken up properly
and the caller just uses this as a short sleeping function
if it doesn't wake up properly.

When we are doing compliance test with xHCI, we found that if we
enable CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND and plug in a bad device which causes
over-current condition to the root port, software will not be noticed.
The reason is that current code don't set hub->change_bits in
hub_activate() when over-current happens, and then hub_events() will
not check the port status because it thinks nothing changed.
If CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND is disabled, the interrupt pipe of the hub will
report the change and set hub->event_bits, and then hub_events() will
check what events happened.In this case over-current can be detected.

Current Intel SOC cores use a MailBox Interface (MBI) to provide access to
configuration registers on devices (called units) connected to the system
fabric. This is a support driver that implements access to this interface on
those platforms that can enumerate the device using PCI. Initial support is for
BayTrail, for which port definitons are provided. This is a requirement for
implementing platform specific features (e.g. RAPL driver requires this to
perform platform specific power management using the registers in PUNIT).
Dependant modules should select IOSF_MBI in their respective Kconfig
configuraiton. Serialized access is handled by all exported routines with
spinlocks.
The API includes 3 functions for access to unit registers:
int iosf_mbi_read(u8 port, u8 opcode, u32 offset, u32 *mdr)
int iosf_mbi_write(u8 port, u8 opcode, u32 offset, u32 mdr)
int iosf_mbi_modify(u8 port, u8 opcode, u32 offset, u32 mdr, u32 mask)
port: indicating the unit being accessed
opcode: the read or write port specific opcode
offset: the register offset within the port
mdr: the register data to be read, written, or modified
mask: bit locations in mdr to change
Returns nonzero on error
Note: GPU code handles access to the GFX unit. Therefore access to that unit
with this driver is disallowed to avoid conflicts.

Helge Deller noted a few weeks ago problems with the AIO support on
parisc. This change is the result of numerous iterations on how best to
deal with this problem.
The solution adopted here is to provide full cache coherency in a
uniform manner on all parisc systems. This involves calling
flush_dcache_page() on kmap operations and flush_kernel_dcache_page() on
kunmap operations. As a result, the copy_user_page() and
clear_user_page() functions can be removed and the overall code is
simpler.
The change ensures that both userspace and kernel aliases to a mapped
page are invalidated and flushed. This is necessary for the correct
operation of PA8800 and PA8900 based systems which do not support
inequivalent aliases.
With this change, I have observed no cache related issues on c8000 and
rp3440. It is now possible for example to do kernel builds with "-j64"
on four way systems.
On systems using XFS file systems, the patch recently posted by Mikulas
Patocka to "fix crash using XFS on loopback" is needed to avoid a hang
caused by an uninitialized lock passed to flush_dcache_page() in the
page struct.

fashion of this macro had unbalanced parentheses. This patch removes the
parentheses in question.

Commit 35773dac5f "usb: xhci: Link TRB
must not occur within a USB payload burst" attempted to fix an issue
found with USB ethernet adapters, and inadvertently broke USB storage
devices. The patch attempts to ensure that transfers never span a
segment, and rejects transfers that have more than 63 entries (or
possibly less, if some entries cross 64KB boundaries).
usb-storage limits the maximum transfer size to 120K, and we had assumed
the block layer would pass a scatter-gather list of 4K entries,
resulting in no more than 31 sglist entries:
http://marc.info/?l=linux-usb&m=138498190419312&w=2
That assumption was wrong, since we've seen the driver reject a write
that was 218 sectors long (of probably 512 bytes each):
Jan 1 07:04:49 jidanni5 kernel: [ 559.624704] xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Too many fragments 79, max 63
...
Jan 1 07:04:58 jidanni5 kernel: [ 568.622583] Write(10): 2a 00 00 06 85 0e 00 00 da 00
Limit the number of scatter-gather entries to half a ring segment. That
should be margin enough in case some entries cross 64KB boundaries.
Increase the number of TRBs per segment from 64 to 256, which should
result in ring segments fitting on a 4K page.

Currently prepare_ring() returns -ENOMEM if the urb won't fit into a
single ring segment. usb_sg_wait() treats this error as a temporary
condition and will keep retrying until something else goes wrong.
The number of retries should be limited in usb_sg_wait(), but also
prepare_ring() should not return an error code that suggests it might
be worth retrying. Change it to -EINVAL.
