07805ac81c [S390] ptrace: use common code for simple peek/poke operations
arch_ptrace on s390 implements PTRACE_(PEEK|POKE)(TEXT|DATA) instead of
using using ptrace_request in kernel/ptrace.c.
The only reason is the 31bit addressing mode, where we have to unmask the

846955c8af [S390] hibernation: fix guest page hinting related crash
On resume the system that loads the to be resumed image might have
unstable pages.
When the resume image is copied back and a write access happen to an
unstable page this causes an exception and the system crashes.

To fix this set all free pages to stable before copying the resumed
image data. Also after everything has been restored set all free
pages of the resumed system to unstable again.

14c0abf14a x86: mce, inject: Use real inject-msg in raise_local
Current raise_local() uses a struct mce that comes from mce_write()
as a parameter instead of the real inject-msg, so when we set
mce.finished = 0 to clear injected MCE, the real inject stays
valid.

This will cause the remaining inject-msg affect the next injection,
which is not desired.

To fix this, real inject-msg is used in raise_local instead of the
one on the stack.

This patch is based on the diagnosis and the fixes by Dean Nelson.

7ce618db98 Btrfs: fix early enospc during balancing
We now do extra checks before a balance to make sure
there is room for the balance to take place. One of
the checks was testing to see if we were trying to
balance away the last block group of a given type.

If there is no space available for new chunks, we
should not try and balance away the last block group
of a give type. But, the code wasn't checking for
available chunk space, and so it was exiting too soon.

The fix here is to combine some of the checks and make
sure we try to allocate new chunks when we're balancing
the last block group.

b417c9fd86 x86: mce: Fix thermal throttling message storm
If a system switches back and forth between hot and cold mode,
the MCE code will print a stream of critical kernel messages.

Extend the throttling code to properly notice this, by
only printing the first hot + cold transition and omitting
the rest up to CHECK_INTERVAL (5 minutes).

This way we'll only get a single incident of:

[ 102.356584] CPU0: Temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 1)
[ 102.357000] Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint
 [ 102.369223] CPU0: Temperature/speed normal

Every 5 minutes. The 'total events' count tells the number of cold/hot
transitions detected, should overheating occur after 5 minutes again:

[ 402.357580] CPU0: Temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 24891)
[ 402.358001] CPU0: Temperature/speed normal
[ 450.704142] Machine check events logged

85233c43f7 m32r: Cleanup linker script using new linker script macros.
This patch is largely a straightforward conversion. One thing to note
is that the new macros use fewer separate output sections than the old
code; this should have no functional impact but is relevant for people
objdumping vmlinux files.

Also note that it moves the .data.init_task output sections inside
_edata.

743486dff1 m32r: Move the spi_stack_top and spu_stack_top into .init.data section.
Since these get squashed into the .data output section by the m32r
linker script, it seems likely that they don't need their own input
sections.

At Hirokazu Takata's suggestion, we place these structures in
.init.data rather than just placing them in .data (since they are only
used at init time).

This patch is preparation for cleaning up the m32r architecture to use
the new macros in vmlinux.lds.h; if these sections are indeed not
needed, then we can use the RW_DATA_SECTION macro for m32r and save a
bunch of redundant code.

2a67d26284 m32r: Remove unused .altinstructions and .exit.* code from linker script.
It appears that m32r copied the .altinstructions definition from x86
when the architecture was first merged into Linux. m32r doesn't put
anything in .altinstructions, so this is just dead code.

The following block affecting .exit.text/.exit.data, which has a
comment also copied from x86, should also be deleted; the linker
script later discards the .exit.text and .exit.data sections.

f266889517 drivers/hwmon/adm1021.c: support high precision ADM1023 remote sensor
The ADM1023 temperature sensor supports higher resolution for its external
sensor (sensitivity of 1/8 deg C). This patch makes this higher
resolution available through the appropriate temperature sysfs nodes.

Curiously, this functionality was available in the 2.4 kernel driver (but
formatted in a less helpful manner).

2cd9645e2f lis3: add power management functions
This enabled power management functions for the SPI transport layer of the
lis3 devices. The device's suspend mode is only entered in case no wakeup
threshold has been given. In this case, the device is supposed to wake up
the system and must thus not be put to deep sleep.

0bf41d9f41 drivers/hwmon/coretemp.c: enable the Intel Atom
Enable the coretemp driver on an Intel Atom.

I'm not sure if the readings are correct, however - on my 330, the driver
reports values between 27 and 41 °C (with core1 being about 8°C hotter
than core0, given the same load). Maybe the maximum temperature of 100 °C
is wrong for Atom CPUs.

42e41c54d6 checkpatch: add some common Blackfin checks
Add checks for Blackfin-specific issues that seem to crop up from time to

the hi/lo parts, and we want to make sure people use the csync/ssync
variant that includes fun anomaly workarounds.
