Devices with many DAIs are becoming more and more common, and generally
the more modern devices have consistent register layouts between DAIs.
Rather than have drivers open code lookups based on the DAI ID or cause
uglification in UI by having register addresses for IDs provide a base
address field they can use.

Currently the c6x architecture uses CONFIG_TMS320C6X as the main
architecture symbol. Most architectures use a more intuitive name
based on the architecture directory name. There are no current
users of TMS320C6X so this patch simply changes CONFIG_TMS320C6X
to the more intuitive CONFIG_C6X.

On SandyBridge IPS was entirely implemented in hardware and not reliant
on the driver monitoring power consumption and feeding back desired run
states, so the hardware is able to adapt quicker and more flexibly. Which
is a huge relief for us as we no longer have to carry empirically
derived magic algorithms.
Yet despite the advance in technology, the driver was still doing its
IPS polling on all machines. Restrict it to the only supported hardware,
Clarkdale/Arrandale.

We only execute intel_decrease_pllclock for pre-PCH hardware, typically
gen4 mobiles. However, in the variable declaration we did read from the
non-PCH DPLL register, quite naughty and detected by SandyBridge.

At the point of the call to video_register_device, both dev->vbi_dev and
dev->vdev have been allocated, and so should be freed on failure. The
error-handling code is moved to the end of the function, to avoid code
duplication.

The cacheflush syscall can fail for two reasons:
(1) The arguments are invalid (nonsensical address range or no VMA)
(2) The region generates a translation fault on a VIPT or PIPT cache
This patch allows do_cache_op to return an error code to userspace in
the case of the above. The various coherent_user_range implementations
are modified to return 0 in the case of VIVT caches or -EFAULT in the
case of an abort on v6/v7 cores.

We can't be holding the mmap_sem while calling flush_cache_user_range
because the flush can fault. If we fault on a user address, the
page fault handler will try to take mmap_sem again. Since both places
acquire the read lock, most of the time it succeeds. However, if another
thread tries to acquire the write lock on the mmap_sem (e.g. mmap) in
between the call to flush_cache_user_range and the fault, the down_read
in do_page_fault will deadlock.

This gate consists of two bits:
0b00: clk disabled
0b01: clk enabled in run mode and disabled in sleep mode
0b11: clk enabled
Currently only disabled and enabled are supported. As it's unlikely
that we find something like this in another SoC create a i.MX specific
clk helper for this.

If the user request for the number of VFs in the max_vfs parameter is
out of range then reset the value to the default value of zero. This
makes the behavior of the ixgbe driver the same as for the igb driver.

Secondary unicast and multicast addresses are added to the Receive
Address registers (RAR) for most parts supported by the driver. For
82579, there is only one actual RAR and a number of Shared Receive Address
registers (SHRAR) that are shared among the driver and f/w which can be
reserved and write-protected by the f/w. On this device, use the SHRARs
that are not taken by f/w for the additional addresses.
Add a MAC ops function pointer infrastructure (similar to other MAC
operations in the driver) for setting RARs, introduce a new rar_set
function for 82579 and convert the existing code that sets RARs on other
devices to a generic rar_set function.

An update to the EEPROM on 82579 will extend a delay in hardware to fix an
issue with WoL not working after a G3->S5 transition which is unrelated to
the driver. However, this extended delay conflicts with nominal operation
of the device when it is initialized by the driver and after every reset
of the hardware (i.e. the driver starts configuring the device before the
hardware is done with it's own configuration work). The workaround for
when the driver is in control of the device is to tell the hardware after
every reset the configuration delay should be the original shorter one.
Some pre-existing variables are renamed generically to be re-used with
new register accesses.

This patch eliminates the gfs2_log_element data structure and
rolls its two components into the gfs2_bufdata. This makes the code
easier to understand and makes it easier to migrate to a rbtree

According to the standard count 0 is special - no IO should happen but we
can check error conditions (device gone away, etc), and return 0 if there
are no errors. We used to return -EINVAL instead and we also could return 0
if an event was "stolen" by another thread.

When copy_to/from_user fails in the middle of transfer we should not
report to the user that read/write partially succeeded but rather
report -EFAULT right away, so that application will know that it got
its buffers all wrong.
If application messed up its buffers we can't trust the data fetched
from userspace and successfully written to the device or if data read
from the device and transferred to userspace ended up where application
expected it to end.
If serio_write() fails we still going to report partial writes if failure
happens in the middle of the transfer.

EMIF is an SDRAM controller used in various Texas Instruments
SoCs. EMIF supports, based on its revision, one or more of
LPDDR2/DDR2/DDR3 protocols.
