The results of the default device stop and domain power off governor
functions for generic PM domains, default_stop_ok() and
default_power_down_ok(), depend only on the timing data of devices,
which are static, and on their PM QoS constraints. Thus, in theory,
these functions only need to carry out their computations, which may
be time consuming in general, when it is known that the PM QoS
constraint of at least one of the devices in question has changed.
Use the PM QoS notifiers of devices to implement that. First,
introduce new fields, constraint_changed and max_off_time_changed,
into struct gpd_timing_data and struct generic_pm_domain,
respectively, and register a PM QoS notifier function when adding
a device into a domain that will set those fields to 'true' whenever
the device's PM QoS constraint is modified. Second, make
default_stop_ok() and default_power_down_ok() use those fields to
decide whether or not to carry out their computations from scratch.
The device and PM domain hierarchies are taken into account in that
and the expense is that the changes of PM QoS constraints of
suspended devices will not be taken into account immediately, which
isn't guaranteed anyway in general.

The removal of a device from a PM domain doesn't have to browse
the domain's device list, because it can check directly if the
device belongs to the given domain. Moreover, it should clear
the domain_data pointer in dev->power.subsys_data, because
dev_pm_put_subsys_data(dev) may not remove dev->power.subsys_data
and the stale domain data pointer may cause problems to happen.
Rework pm_genpd_remove_device() taking the above observations into
account.

When an epoll_event, that has the EPOLLWAKEUP flag set, is ready, a
wakeup_source will be active to prevent suspend. This can be used to
handle wakeup events from a driver that support poll, e.g. input, if
that driver wakes up the waitqueue passed to epoll before allowing
suspend.

Move the final link of vmlinux to a script to improve
readability and maintainability of the code.
The Makefile fragments used to link vmlinux has over the
years seen far too many changes and the logic had become
hard to follow.
As the process by nature is serialized there was
nothing gained including this in the Makefile.
"um" has special link requirments - and the
only way to handle this was to hard-code the linking
of "um" in the script.
This was better than trying to modularize it only for the
benefit of "um" anyway.

sparc32 uses an additional final link to support btfix.
Introduce a new set of exported variables in the top-level Makefile
to make the extra linking step simpler.
sparc32 has hardcoded knowledge of kallsyms support. This fix
include support for EXTRA_KALLSYM_PASS=1.
The ugly part is that it is hardcoded in the arch/sparc/boot
Makefile.

On gen4+ we don't reset the display unit, so resetting the complete
modeset state should not be necessary.
We can't do reset on gen3 anyway, which leaves us with gen2 reset:
According to Chris Wilson, that doesn't work so great, so he suggested
we just ignore that. If the need ever arrises, we can re-add it later
on.

avoid angering the hangcheck right away (and potentially declaring
the gpu permanently wedged).
- ignore reset failures when hanging due to the hangman - we don't
have reset code for all generations.

This way we can simulate a bunch of gpu hangs and run the error_state
capture code every time (without the need to reload the module).
To make that happen we need to abandon the simple seq_file wrappers
provided by the drm core. While at it put the new error_state
refcounting to some good use and associated the error_state to the
debugfs when opening the file. Otherwise the error_state could change
while someone is reading it. This should help greatly when we finally
get around to split up the giant single seq_file block that the
error_state file currently is into smaller parts.

gpu reset is a very important piece of our infrastructure.
Unfortunately we only really it test by actually hanging the gpu,
which often has bad side-effects for the entire system. And the gpu
hang handling code is one of the rather complicated pieces of code we
have, consisting of
- hang detection
- error capture
- actual gpu reset
- reset of all the gem bookkeeping
- reinitialition of the entire gpu
This patch adds a debugfs to selectively stopping rings by ceasing to
update the hw tail pointer, which will result in the gpu no longer
updating it's head pointer and eventually to the hangcheck firing.
This way we can exercise the gpu hang code under controlled conditions
without a dying gpu taking down the entire systems.
Patch motivated by me forgetting to properly reinitialize ppgtt after
a gpu reset.
Usage:

echo 0xffffffff > i915_ring_stop # stops all, future-proof version
then run whatever testload is desired. i915_ring_stop automatically
resets after a gpu hang is detected to avoid hanging the gpu to fast
and declaring it wedged.

Currently, we'll try mounting any device who's major device number is
UNNAMED_MAJOR as NFS root. This would happen for non-NFS devices as
well (such as 9p devices) but it wouldn't cause any issues since
mounting the device as NFS would fail quickly and the code proceeded to
doing the proper mount:

Commit 6829a048102a ("NFS: Retry mounting NFSROOT") introduced retries
when mounting NFS root, which means that now we don't immediately fail
and instead it takes an additional 90+ seconds until we stop retrying,
which has revealed the issue this patch fixes.
This meant that it would take an additional 90 seconds to boot when
we're not using a device type which gets detected in order before NFS.
This patch modifies the NFS type check to require device type to be
'Root_NFS' instead of requiring the device to have an UNNAMED_MAJOR
major. This makes boot process cleaner since we now won't go through
the NFS mounting code at all when the device isn't an NFS root
("/dev/nfs").

The ARM audit code incorrectly uses the saved application ip register
value to infer syscall entry or exit. Additionally, the saved value will
be clobbered if the current task is not being traced, which can lead to
libc corruption if ip is live (apparently glibc uses it for the TLS
pointer).
This patch fixes the syscall tracing code so that the why parameter is
used to infer the syscall direction and the saved ip is only updated if
we know that we will be signalling a ptrace trap.

The inline assembly in kernel_execve() uses r8 and r9. Since this
code sequence does not return, it usually doesn't matter if the
register clobber list is accurate. However, I saw a case where a
particular version of gcc used r8 as an intermediate for the value
eventually passed to r9. Because r8 is used in the inline
assembly, and not mentioned in the clobber list, r9 was set
to an incorrect value.
This resulted in a kernel panic on execution of the first user-space
program in the system. r9 is used in ret_to_user as the thread_info
pointer, and if it's wrong, bad things happen.

The smb347-charger driver does a lot of read-modify-write to the device
registers. Instead of open-coding everything we can take advantage of
regmap API which provides nice functions to do this kind of things.
In addition there is no need for custom debugfs file for dumping
registers as this is already provided by the regmap API.

There is a potential problem if we call smb347_irq_enable() from
smb347_irq_init() because smb347_irq_enable() makes the device registers
read-only once it returns and smb347_irq_init() expects them to still be
read-write. Currently no harm happens because it is the last call we make
in smb347_irq_init().
Anyway a better place for enabling IRQs is at the end of probe function
and this is also symmetric to call smb347_irq_disable() which is done at
the beginning of remove function.

PFC stats are only tabulated when PFC is enabled. However in IEEE
mode the ieee_pfc pfc_tc bits were not checked and the calculation
was aborted.
This results in statistics not being reported through ethtool and
possible a false Tx hang occurring when receiving pause frames.

Clear the REQ and GNT bit in the eeprom control register (EECD).
This is required if the eeprom is to be accessed with auto read
EERD register.
After a cold reset this doesn't matter but if PBIST MAC test was
executed before booting, the register was left in a dirty state
(the 2 bits where set), which caused the read operation to time out
and returning 0.

Like other supported (igp) PHYs, the driver needs to be able to force the
master/slave mode on 82577. Since the code is the same as what already
exists in the code flow for igp PHYs, move it to a new function to be
called for both flows.
