Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. [S390] move sie code to entry.S The entry to / exit from sie has subtle dependencies to the first level interrupt handler. Move the sie assembler code to entry64.S and replace the SIE_HOOK callback with a test and the new _TIF_SIE bit. In addition this patch fixes several problems in regard to the check for the_TIF_EXIT_SIE bits. The old code checked the TIF bits before executing the interrupt handler and it only modified the instruction address if it pointed directly to the sie instruction. In both cases it could miss a TIF bit that normally would cause an exit from the guest and would reenter the guest context. KVM: s390,perf: Detect if perf samples belong to KVM host or guest This patch is based on an original patch of David Hildenbrand. The perf core implementation calls architecture specific code in order to ask for specific information for a particular sample: perf_instruction_pointer() When perf core code asks for the instruction pointer, architecture specific code must detect if a KVM guest was running when the sample was taken. A sample can be associated with a KVM guest when the PSW supervisor state bit is set and the PSW instruction pointer part contains the address of 'sie_exit'. A KVM guest's instruction pointer information is then retrieved via gpsw entry pointed to by the sie control-block. perf_misc_flags() perf code code calls this function in order to associate the kernel vs. user state infomation with a particular sample. Architecture specific code must also first detectif a KVM guest was running at the time the sample was taken. s390/string: provide asm lib functions for memcpy and memcmp Our memcpy and memcmp variants were implemented by calling the corresponding gcc builtin variants. However gcc is free to replace a call to __builtin_memcmp with a call to memcmp which, when called, will result in an endless recursion within memcmp. So let's provide asm variants and also fix the variants that are used for uncompressing the kernel image. In addition remove all other occurences of builtin function calls.
