Driver core: add dev_archdata to struct device Add arch specific dev_archdata to struct device Adds an arch specific struct dev_arch to struct device. This enables architecture to add specific fields to every device in the system, like DMA operation pointers, NUMA node ID, firmware specific data, etc... ACPI: Change ACPI to use dev_archdata instead of firmware_data Change ACPI to use dev_archdata instead of firmware_data This patch changes ACPI to use the new dev_archdata on i386, x86_64 and ia64 (is there any other arch using ACPI ?) to store it's acpi_handle. It also removes the firmware_data field from struct device as this was the only user. iommu: Rename the DMAR and INTR_REMAP config options Change the CONFIG_DMAR to CONFIG_INTEL_IOMMU to be consistent with the other IOMMU options. Rename the CONFIG_INTR_REMAP to CONFIG_IRQ_REMAP to match the irq subsystem name. [IA64] Add Variable Page Size and IA64 Support in Intel IOMMU The patch contains Intel IOMMU IA64 specific code. It defines new machvec dig_vtd, hooks for IOMMU, DMAR table detection, cache line flush function, etc. For a generic kernel with CONFIG_DMAR=y, if Intel IOMMU is detected, dig_vtd is used for machinve vector. Otherwise, kernel falls back to dig machine vector. Kernel parameter "machvec=dig" or "intel_iommu=off" can be used to force kernel to boot dig machine vector. Driver Core: Add platform device arch data V3 Allow architecture specific data in struct platform_device V3. With this patch struct pdev_archdata is added to struct platform_device, similar to struct dev_archdata in found in struct device. Useful for architecture code that needs to keep extra data associated with each platform device. Struct pdev_archdata is different from dev.platform_data, the convention is that dev.platform_data points to driver-specific data. It may or may not be required by the driver. The format of this depends on driver but is the same across architectures. The structure pdev_archdata is a place for architecture specific data. This data is handled by architecture specific code (for example runtime PM), and since it is architecture specific it should _never_ be touched by device driver code. Exactly like struct dev_archdata but for platform devices.
